About Jaimes Tan Yan Tong (陳衍通)
Tan Yan Tong believes we are all connected to the energy around us, the universal energy that many traditions describe in their own ways. BaZi and Zi Wei Dou Shu are long-standing interests of his, and Mingli Atlas is how he shares them.
Why Mingli Atlas
Tan Yan Tong set up Mingli Atlas so that anyone can use simple, accurate tools to learn more about their own BaZi and 命理 (Chinese destiny studies), free and without jargon. Enter your birth details, and the site calculates your chart and explains it in plain English or 中文: your Day Master, your five-element balance, your Zi Wei palaces and the year ahead.
The tools are for curiosity, learning and self-reflection. They are not a professional consultation.
Property and retirement tools
The property calculators come from the same place as the rest of the site: Jaimes’s own planning. He keeps a retirement ledger for CPF, savings and dividends, and is turning it into simple tools so others can check a home purchase and their retirement without stress. They are free, private and for information only. He is not a licensed financial adviser or property agent.
A belief in universal energy
He sees the energy of our surroundings, in our homes, in nature and between people, as something worth paying attention to. That belief led him to formal training in two practices:
- Radiesthesia practitioner: trained in energy dowsing for homes and spaces.
- Usui Reiki Master: certified through Level 1 (Shoden), Level 2 (Okuden) and Level 3 (Shinpiden), offering Reiki with no physical contact.
BaZi and Zi Wei: an interest, shared openly
BaZi and Zi Wei Dou Shu are personal interests, not professional qualifications. The charts on this site are calculated by an astronomical engine, and the explanations are compiled from classical sources. For important decisions, please seek qualified professional advice.
How Mingli Atlas works
Charts are calculated with Jean Meeus’s astronomical algorithms for the solar terms and new moons, so BaZi, Zi Wei Dou Shu and Kua numbers start from the correct calendar. Everything runs in your browser, and the full chart is one tap away for those who want it.
Support Mingli Atlas
The tools are free and will stay free. If they help you, you can treat Tan Yan Tong to a kopi. It is a voluntary tip, not payment for any service.
Our approach
- Honest. These are cultural traditions for reflection, not scientific predictions, and we say so.
- No fear-based selling. No expensive charms or remedies.
- Private. Free tools run in your browser; birth details are not uploaded.
- Wellbeing, not medicine. Reiki and radiesthesia support relaxation and do not diagnose, treat or cure any condition.
